Get on your bike!
July 3rd 2015
Registration is now open for the fifth annual Frankie's Charity Cycle Sportive, which will take place this year on Sunday 30th August.
Proceeds will go to the Fishermen's Mission, Cancer Research UK and Alzheimer's Research UK.
The registration form for cyclists of all ages and abilities can be downloaded from this page or picked up in the shop in Brae. Sponsorship forms can be collected from the shop or posted out to you - contact us on 01806 522700 to let us know.
Tickets for the raffle, which will be drawn on the day of the event, will be made available shortly at both Frankie’s and the Brae Garage.
Prizes will include a NorthLink ferry trip, £150 in cash, £100 in cash and a luxury food hamper.
The routes for the sponsored cycle are 40 miles (two times around a loop from Brae to Voe to Mossbank), 20 miles (once around the same loop) and 10 miles (Brae to Voe and back).
Last year more than 50 participants helped to raise more than £10,000 for the Fishermen’s Mission.
Frankie’s manager Carlyn Kearney urged people to join in and contribute to three very worthwhile causes.
"We are continuing to support the great work the Fishermen's Mission does in our fishing community," she said.
"And this year we are also supporting important research into cancer and Alzheimer's, which sadly touch a lot of people's lives now.
"Our cycle event is a fund event which really is open to everyone, regardless of age or ability, so we hope you will join us on the last Sunday in August!"
