Frankie’s has received a Taste Our Best award from the national tourism body VisitScotland in recognition of our promotion of local food produce.

An assessor recently visited us to examine our food and hospitality as well as the cleanliness of our premises.

Frankie’s becomes only the second holder of the award in Shetland after nearby Busta House, which secured its award last year.

Frankie’s Manager said: “As most of our loyal customers know, Frankie’s is all about showcasing local, sustainable seafood – haddock, mussels, crab and scallops – and offering locally-produced food where we can.

“So we’re pleased to have been granted the Taste Our Best status by VisitScotland. It is a mark of our commitment to supporting excellent food producers in Shetland.”

The VisitScotland scheme aims to simulate the use and promotion of Scottish produce while recognising and raising quality standards.

It offers advice to bring food and drink suppliers and tourism businesses together.

Steve Mathieson, Islands Manager for Visit Scotland, said: “It’s great to see Frankie’s being recognised once again as a business operating at the top of its game, providing high quality food and championing local produce.

“This VisitScotland Taste our Best Award is richly deserved for the hard work and dedication that Frankie’s has put in to advancing the good name of the fantastic food and drink offering we have here in Shetland, serving not only local folk but also encouraging an increasing number of visitors to come and try it for themselves.”
