For the last 5 years we have been taking the Frankie's Fish Course to local schools to teach the children all about why sustainability is so important.
Frankie's Fish Course is designed to educate children on why sustainable fishing is vital for our local community and beyond. So far this year we have visited classes at the Bell's Brae School, the Sound School and the Symbister School.
For each visit we take along a box of whole fresh fish and shellfish showing all the different species. The children always enjoy having a hands on experience being able to pick up and handle the fish. We explain the health benefits of eating fish regularly and discuss why sustainability and catching fish in the correct way is important for the future.
