Competition winners enjoy meal and tour

The winners of a competition held by the Great British Food magazine were treated to a special lunch and behind-the-scenes tour by Frankie’s staff.
Di and Con McGuinness, from Winslow in Buckinghamshire, travelled to Shetland earlier this week and stayed at the Scalloway Hotel.
They took buses to Brae where they enjoyed lunch in our café and a peek at what makes one of the country’s top fish and chip shops tick.
Di said: “It’s been delightful. We’d always wanted to come to Shetland but to be honest winning the competition was the only we were going to be able to.
“We had a lovely lunch at Frankie’s and it is easy to see why the shop has been so successful.”
Frankie’s manager Carlyn Kearney said: “We were pleased to able to host Mr and Mrs McGuinness who were very interested in Shetland and in what we do here at Frankie’s.”
Earlier this month we also hosted Andrew Moore, owner of Moore’s Fish & Chips in Castle Douglas, and Gordon Hillan, head of the KFE training school.
