Frankie's wins praise in best fish restaurant competition

Frankie’s has been highly commended in the first competition of its kind to identify the country’s top fish and shellfish restaurant.
We entered the contest after being named No.1 fish and chip shop in the UK in January this year.
Run by The Caterer magazine and Seafish UK, the inaugural Restaurant of the Year competition attracted a host of entries from across the country.
The top 10 shortlist, to be whittled down to five before a winner is chosen next month, comprises: Chamberlain’s, London; Dylan’s, Anglesey; Ee-usk, Oban; Gamba, Glasgow; Hix Oyster & Fish House, Lyme Regis; Outlaw’s at the Capital, London; Rocksalt, Folkestone; Smith & Baker, Sheffield; The Salt Room, Brighton; and The Jetty, Christchurch.
Besides Frankie’s, the highly commended eateries were: GB1, Brighton; Irvins Brasserie, North Shields; Kaspar’s, London; Newman Street Tavern, London; The Crabhouse Café, Dorset; and the Captain’s Table, Cleethorpes.
“We’re very pleased to have been highly commended by the judges as they seek out the best fish and shellfish restaurant in the country,” said Frankie’s manager Carlyn Kearney.
“It’s testament to the fantastic quality of sustainable fish and shellfish we get from the clean, clear waters just off our shores.
“We’d like to wish the shortlisted businesses the very best of luck as they vie for the top spot!”
